Abstract:: Vegetation polygons (also known as 'stands') extracted from the NRIS FSVeg Spatial application for the Francis Marion and Sumter National Forest.
Purpose:: Forest stands are defined as "a spatially continuous group of trees and associated vegetation having similar structures and growing under similar soil and climatic conditions".
Supplemental_Information:: February 2012: The data was downloaded by Julie Arnold of the SEF from the Francis Marion/Sumter National Forest GIS Server Database and then clipped to the SEF boundary. The metadata was edited for the SEF database.
