Description:

Abstract:: Three well transects were created in 2008 on the SEF. One transect is located in a burn only treatment stand. One transect is located in a thin only treatment area. One transect is located in a control area, where not treatments are conducted. Each transect contains 3 wells at a depth of 8 feet. The 1st well is located close to a stream and is monitored by a WL16 pressure transducer to record water level below the soil surface every hour. The 2nd well is located in a riparian zone and is montored manually on an irregular schedule. The 3rd well is located in a treatment area and is monitored manually on an irregular schedule.
Purpose:: The GIS layers shows the locations of each well in each transect. The transects show the effect of prescribed burning or thinning on the water level below the soil surface.
